John 13:34-35 (Lissa)

  1. When babies come into this world they bring love. The people around them are kinder, and happier. It is because babies love us back with no reservation. I love it when a baby cuddles in my arms and falls to sleep because they feel safe. They accept our love with no reservation. Our Savior wants us to feel safe and secure in his love. When we are little children we think we are the most important person in the world and they want everyone to see them. "Mom, watch what I can do." What parent and grandparent doesn't clap and cheer their little ones along. Heavenly Father and Jesus are there ready and waiting to clap and cheer us on as we go through life. They love us unconditionally. They want us to succeed. We need to be like that with our children no matter what age they are. Let us be generous with our praise for things they do and generous with our hugs when they get hurt, or need consolations. That is what Jesus would do.

  2. I think this is the one commandment that can make the difference for all the others. If we could just do this one thing, then all the rest would fall into place for us. If we can just take some time to see people as the Savior sees them, our hearts would be softened and we would all have a little more kindness, love, empathy, and patience with each other- because that is what the Savior has done for us time and time again.

  3. I struggle with the everyday reality of this scripture. I would really like to be known as a disciple of Christ. There are days that I think the Savior might claim me. And then there are other days that I'm sure I disappoint Him. The reason I struggle is because Love is a Verb. I can talk love, and write love, and even pray about love; but do I love every day. I have learned much from you, my children. As I've watched you interact with your siblings and children I see that love that Christ talked about in this commandment. Thanks for your examples. Now I just need to try more diligently to be an everyday disciple.

  4. I really like this scripture a lot and we should love everyone because it is a commandment to love our fellowmen too . The Savior Jesus Christ is the perfect example and we should love everyone that we come in contact with too . Have a great week .
