  1. For me this idea is that the very core of our church and the restoration. You can Find out for your self. One of my favorite quotes on this is by Richard C. Edgley.
"Yes, faith is a choice, and it must be sought after and developed. Thus, we are responsible for our own faith. We are also responsible for our lack of faith. The choice is yours." (This was from "Faith--the Choice Is Yours") We can all know like Joseph, if we have the faith and act. We may not get our answers in the same manner but we will get an answer.

  2. Will is spot on with my thoughts this week. If we don't live the gospel and test out the Lord's words then we can't come to know if they are true. Once we see that it works, our faith grows and we are more willing to trust in His words and live them even more fully than we were before.

John was saying not to take his word for it, but to try it out for ourselves and see that the Lord knows what He's talking about.

There was an awesome BYU devotional by Sherri Dew called "Will you engage in the Wrestle?" It talks about how if we have questions we shouldn't doubt- but start seeking in the scriptures for answers. Here's the link if you want to go read/watch it: http://www.byui.edu/devotionals/sheri-dew

  3. Week to week I'm greatly impressed with the scriptures you pick and the comments. Both cause me to ponder more deeply on my own beliefs. This one is cause for even greater introspection.

The two action words are keys to my understanding - do and know. Then that other word that is the central theme - doctrine. The doctrine of Christ is the bedrock of our faith and the church. Many years of my life passed by with me just living the principles of the gospel and not really knowing the doctrine. But things change when we start doing. By doing the things Christ taught such as love and service I came to know. I'm thankful for this concept that by doing we may know.

  4. This is a very good scripture and I really like the part where we need to know his will and study his doctrine for ourselves and find out if the gospel is true . I think he a will for all of us to know his doctrine and apply it to our life's too. Those are my thoughts for this week ! Mariah Sparrow
