Moroni 7:48 (Jen)

  1. Prayer is more powerful than we often give credit for. We usually just pray as part of a routine, which can get redundant and meaningless. I have been praying with more intent lately- trying to build a relationship with Heavenly Father as I share my concerns, worries, and hopes. I've prayed for Will and Ashlee's family as they await the arrival of their new little one. I've prayed for Mom and Dad to be blessed with health and in their efforts to serve. I've prayed for John to have the strength and will to make good choices. I pray for Emm and Gary to be blessed as they recover and heal. I pray Lissa's family is happy and well. I'm pray for Britt while she's away from home. I thank Heavenly Father for Al being so happy with his job. I ask that He watches over and protects Bree each day.

I think if we want to know and recognize the Savior when He returns, we have to pray to the Father in His name and access the Spirit so that we truely do come to know Him.

  2. Prayer can become a ritual like I witnessed in the Far Eastern cultures. I am afraid that even in our our sacrament meetings the sacrament prayers are often ritualistic. Earnest, effectual prayer with all the energy of our hearts is a direct open link to a loving Heavenly Father. He listens and responds through His Son and His other children that surround us. There is another scripture that I have referred to often...The prayer of a righteous man availeth much. I need your prayers. I too pray for each of you. I know God answers all these prayers as we strive to align our will with His. Keep praying. His line is never busy. His internet link is never down.

  3. It just amazes me that with the whole world population of millions and all the other things Heavenly Father has to do that he will take time to listen to me and my puny concerns, yet each time I pray I know he listens. We never get a busy signal, or to to call back during business hours. We are so blessed to have a father who really coves us for who we are and what we can become. It is our time to get to know him and to feel of his love.

It is sad that others do not have that relationship. I remember Miss Brenda who loved across the street. She would always come and ask me to pray for someone or something because she said, "God listens to your prayers"

On time when I was stake Primary president in Kansas I was asked if I would recognize the Savior when he came. I had to think about that a bit but after pondering I think I would. I would try not to be too busy to recognize him when he comes. If I was too busy I hope that he would just say my name "Mary" and I would know he was the Christ, my Savior and my Friend. I think each of you are living Christ-like lives of service and you will recognize him too.
    Love--Mom

  4. I want to do this before I forget and I know that this is a powerful scripture that talks about prayer and we all need to say our prayers everyday that the lord will be with all the time. I know I have talked about my surgery a lot lately but I know that day that I had my surgery I said a silent prayer before I went into the operating room and that really gave me the peace of mind that I needed to have because I knew that doctor would operate on me very well. The priesthood blessing really helped and that was answer to my prayers too ! Those are my comments for this week !
Merry Christmas to all ! Love Mariah Sparrow
