  1. Sister Oscarson in April conference asked "Have we have become so accutomed to the blessings we have been given as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints that we fail to fully comprehend the miracles and majesty that discipleship and being members in the Lord's true church brings." Some times I must admit that I take these blessings and miracles for granted.
I do have a testimony that miracles come by faith. When we show the least little bit of faith Heavenly Father immediately blesses us. I think miracles are all around us. We just need to have eyes to see and appreciate all these blessings. One miracle is that we have the internet and we are able to communicate with this blog. I must tell you I really look forward to seeing what each of you write. You amaze me with your spiritual insight.
Medical knowledge has increased so much. Dad and I would not be here if we had not had good doctors. Being able to have more time on earth makes us want to make every minute count. Yet it is not the big things. I have realized that Heavenly Father is in the details of our lives. Just Friday we went to the temple. I have been waiting on 4 sisters for 3 months because I wanted to do their endowment all at the same time. I prayed before I went and in the locker room to find 3 other ladies. Usually I have a hard time but this time I did not. I was able to have all 4 of us do the 4 sisters work. I was so excited to do it all the same day. I felt the spirit so strong. It was indeed a miracle.
I have been trying to do as Sister Bednar does in church. She sets on the back row with a prayer in her heart and watches all during the meeting for promptings to help someone. Every time it comes. It may be a card, a hug, or some kind of service. She knows when she had been lead by the spirit because the people say "How did you know." I strive to be one of those angels to help the Lord watch over his children. That way I am keeping my baptismal covenants.
May we all have eyes to see the miracles in our lives and to be the angels that help others to see miracles.

  2. Miracles and angels often seem to appear together. More often we will catch glimpses of one and not the other. That is OK. The important thing for us is to watch and prepare that we view these events when they do happen.
Just as the scripture points out, miracles did not cease with Christ's ascension into heaven. And angels have not ceased to minister to men on earth. Miracles are happening all around us. Too often we are caught up in the "business" of daily life we fail to see life's little miracles. We also forget who the angels are. Your grandparents and great-grandparents are angels. And who do you think would have greater concern for your welfare? I'm certain they are around us more than we know and are doing all that God's plan allows to help us along our way.
Miracles have not ceased and angels still attend. Take time to count the miracles in your life and listen for the whispering of angels that visit you daily.

  3. I was thinking along the same lines as Mom and Dad this week. Miracles happen around us all the time, every day- but sometimes we are too busy or to out of tune with the spirit to notice them. Those little tender mercies we experience are indeed "great miracles" that happen more often than any of us even realize- and I think that is the greatest miracle of all.

I've been trying to adjust to a new schedule since school has been out. I'm not going to work each day, not preparing seminary lessons each day, so I feel out of sorts a bit. I need to put more effort in to finding the miracles around me every day. Life is so much more joyful when I notice them.

  4. We have all heard stories about people saying or doing things for others at the exact moment they needed it. To me that is a miracle. Yes large amazing miracles do happen angels do appear, but for most of us it is small and simple things that build our testimony. It is those tender mercies, that Jen spoke of, that our are everyday miracles. To bring a different view point I will quote the movie Bruce Almighty: "God: People want me to do eve thing for them. What people don't realize is that they have the power. You want to see a miracle? Be the miracle." We all have the power to do amazing things when we do what our Father in Heaven wants. "The Lord works from the inside out. The world works from the outside in. The world would take people out of the slums. Christ takes the slums out of people, and then they take themselves out of the slums. The world would mold men by changing their environment. Christ changes men, who then change their environment. The world would shape human behavior, but Christ can change human nature." (President Ezra Taft Benson October 1985 General Conference)

  6. I'm not one that likes to mix politics with scripture but in thinking about miracles...I think America needs a miracle with politics. I wonder how can I "be the miracle" when we are at these crossroads of politics. Somewhere in my jumbled thoughts I hear dad saying "It's going to get a lot worse before it gets better." The better may not come as soon as we would hope, but I do know that the Lord is placing us as his agents to be in the right place at the right time to be apart of miracles no matter how gloom the future may appear. Miracles have not ceased and I hope I can be apart of such miracles no matter how small or large.
