  1. I was really inspired by this scripture combined with the talk Lissa suggested. One quote from the talk is "Stay close to the Spirit, and the Spirit will stay close to you." We can't have his influence in our lives any other way. It takes practice, time, and effort to recognize and notice promptings. It takes faith and effort to act on those promptings. I've found that it's better to just follow through and act on them right when you get them, not to question or try to reason out why. He really does have and know the truth of all things and wants to help us know and understand what Heavenly Father would have us learn and do.

  2. I start my comment with another question; What Can't the Holy Ghost help you do? The answer to this question is eluded to in this scripture and further answered by words from Elder Bednar. The three letter word "ALL" in this scripture is the biggest and all encompassing word used. So another question; What is not included in all? Elder Bednar taught us in a missionary conference that the Holy Ghost is the best calculus teacher ever. His point was that if we put forth the effort to learn the Holy Ghost has the power to help us recall and use that knowledge. It does not take much imagination to apply this eternal truth to all facets of our lives. The Holy Ghost is always ready to fulfill his mission. Our problem is that we are not always ready to receive his help. Did you notice that most of Elder Stephenson's talk was three stories? There is not much to say about the simple doctrine and principles of receiving and applying the Gift of the Holy Ghost. The hard part is the daily application. This is a scripture I need to remind me daily of the this great gift and how I can use it more.

  3. I liked when Elder Stevenson said that it all begins with and ordinance. We humble ourselves and get baptized and then we are confirmed a member of The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints by someone holding the Melch. priesthood of God. Then we are called by name and told to receive the Holy Ghost. No one knows the true potential of the Holy Ghost until we start using it. Many times we are content with the things we know and the ways it speaks to us and we don't grow by using the Holy Ghost in different way. I know when I am on a mission I begin to take the Holy Ghost for granted because I feel those promptings often and act on them. We should never take the Holy Ghost for granted. When you come to thing about it. He is really a god. He is a member of the Godhead. It is such an honor and a privilege to have him help us individually. Just think of that. He knows our names and he helps us be clean, guides us, comforts us, gives us peace, and courage, and keeps us safe, and witnesses of truth, and so many more things. We are so lucky we have this companionship.
