  1. Lately I have been struggling with ways to better live the gospel better. I struggle to balance living and doing things that are gospel and church related at the risk of off setting the balance of contention and peace in my home. For quite a while I have stopped or cut out doing things just so I don't upset, offend, or give someone the opportunity to turn something sacred into a joke or unpreferred activity.

I realize I haven't been happy on the inside, even though I've felt like I was making progress with peace in my home.

Lately I've been praying and getting inspiration of ways I can do things differently that can fulfill the need and desire I have to know, follow, and serve the Savior. There is always a way to draw closer to Him if we look for it.

I like the question Elder Bednar asked: "Do we only know about the Savior, or are we increasingly coming to know Him?" Being a light and giving others a light to look to is an important role to play in coming to know the Savior.

  2. I like where Elder Bednar said that each of us is a missionary now. We can send a text, share a thought, and invitation, a tweet, that will introduce your friends to the Restored Gospel. You need not and should not wait for your official call to become anxiously engaged in missionary work.
I love serving on a mission. I think it helps me bring balance to my life as we strive to be his witness, and act quickly on the spirits promptings because we are on his errand. I end up forgetting myself and going to work. Being on a mission helps me be worthy and stay worthy. I love being called to serve. I love that the Savior knows my name and has called me and Dad to his work.

  3. Knowing the Savior is certainly different than know of Him. Elder Bednar made this point in a far better way. It also extends to the application of the Atonement in our lives. We know about it and can even see it in the lives of others, but think it may not work the same for us. The Atonement is the means by which we can become what He wants us to become. Too often my pride or fear of man gets in the way doing what He would do, saying what He would say, or being what He would have me be. What a great reminder that we can become more than what we currently are.

  4. This past week I attended a week long seminary and institute training. They discussed some many great things. One thing that struck me, some of the things we were reminded to do because of our current employment with Christ Kingdom as a S&I employee. However are they just things we merely check of the list. That's the only real satisfaction we get? Or do the things we have been asked to do with our eternal contract with God bring us closer to Him through His Son? One thing that as really stood out to me that I need to do is re-establish our priority to attend the temple monthly. It is an expense of time and money that is vital to our success as a family in these last days.
