Quotes Melissa picked out:
"He will love and correct but never discourage us; that is Satan’s trick."

"I witness to you that if you will really try and will not rationalize or rebel—repenting often and pleading for the grace, or help, of Christ—you positively are going to be “good enough,” that is, acceptable before the Lord; you are going to make it to the celestial kingdom, being perfect in Christ; and you are going to receive the blessings and glory and joy that God desires for each of His precious children—including specifically you and me."

  1. Heavenly Father, or Savior Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost are our best cheerleaders. They are cheering us on every step of the way. We just need to look to them, follow their example and promptings and we can never go wrong. When we do go wrong it is because we think we can do things on our own. Cornish said. “The God of heaven is not a heartless referee looking for any excuse to throw us out of the game. He is our perfectly loving Father who yearns more than anything else to have all of His children come back home and live with him as families forever.”
Bruce R McConkie said What you have to do is stay on the path, keep the commandments, pay your tithing, and serve in the church, and love the lord. If you are on the path then you will make it."
Elder Cornish also said. “Please believe, and please take hope and comfort from this eternal truth. Our Heavenly Father intends for us to make it! That is His work and His glory.”
I know we are all trying to make it to the celestial kingdom to be together forever. We all need to help each other stay on the path so we can live for eternity with our Heavenly Father. We can do it.

  2. This was a great talk and an excellent one to ponder at this Easter time. Yes we are good enough! We are God's children. You have all sang the song and it is true. I couple this talk with a previous one by Elder Holland and realize that this life is a test, but their are no failing grades unless we chose that grade for ourselves. All can be partakers of Christ's gift. And as Elder Holland said, we get credit for just trying. I like you have had some bad days. The very worst day in the life hereafter will be worth any effort on our part to live for the better days ahead. Christ's gift to us will be well worth the effort. As much as Satan would like us to believe we are destined to miserable forever like him, it is not true. We are good enough and will be on the winning team if we so choose.

  4. I liked this quote from the talk "All the Lord expects of us is to try, but you have to really try." (Quote from Gordon B. Hinckley). This jumped out at me because it made me stop to think- am I really trying? It gives me hope to know that I can make it if I keep trying.

So many people go to church and do their callings, but it needs to be more than just going through the motions.

In the talk it also says that the Atonement isn't just for sinners, it's for saints too. We all need to keep repenting and keep trying.
