Alma 5:58 (Dad)

  1. I'll share a little story that happened to Al this week with regards to the Lord knowing our names. Al's company just bought a property in Naples, Florida and takes ownership in one week. They need about 4-5 staff members to runt the property and someone in Al's corporate office dropped the ball and didn't have anyone hired for it yet. This meant that Al had to drop everything and go down there Friday to help hire and find people. While he was there yesterday, he had the thought to reach out to the Spanish Ward Bishop there to see if there was anyone who needed work. He was put in contact with a may who is maintenance certified for HVAC and has worked as an apartment maintenance supervisor. He had been out of work for 3 months. Al said he was the perfect fit for exactly what he needed. I'm glad Al was prompted to help this man, and so glad that the Lord really is watching out for us individually all the time even though our timing might not always match up with his.

  2. God not only knows our nanes, but He knows those he wants us to serve. It always amazes me how He knows and how He works. Then we serve and think what a great deed we did only to see another blessing coming our way. I am so grateful that your names are in God's book and that your Mom taught you to serve,

  4. Dear Kids,
I know that Heavenly Father knew each of your names. He know where you are and who he wants you to serve. You don't wear a missionary badge now but nevertheless you are a missionary to all those around you. Think back of the many times you have been an answer to someone's prayer. As we continue to act on the promptings we get then Heavenly Father will continue to give you more. May we each so live that we may see Heavenly Father and the Holy Ghost work within us so that we man see the miracles that we bring about because we follow those promptings. When we are where we should be then Heavenly Father puts people in our paths. And we prove that, as the primary song goes "The Lord Can depend on me" I want Heavenly Father to be able to depend on me. (The Lord needs valiant servants is the the song)

  5. That last line in the picture of the scripture, "Does God know your name." Makes me think back to the time when I was a relief Society President. I spent many hours pouring over the VT routes. I was amazed at the names that would jump out to me with a sure knowledge that companionship was needed for that sister. However I also had those sisters I knew I couldn't depend on, but I wanted too. I am sure it is much the same way with the Lord. Is our name on His list to send as a ministering angel? Am I reliable and dependable to the Lord.

“I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails.
I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp.
I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children.
I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden.
I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder.
I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived.”
Do you know who said this? Hint it was a prophet's wife.
