  1. I have never seen a vision but I believer Joseph Smith did. I have stood in that grove and felt the spirit there. As I read the Book of Mormon each day I get a witness again of the truthfulness of that book. I know that God had healed me of sickness. He has also healed Dad of cancer. He answered my prayers and let Mariah learn to talk at age 8. He has created this beautiful world for us to live in. No two people, flowers, or snow flakes are the same. I know that God has answered my prayers. He has allowed me to be his servant and serve as a missionary to help teach others about his gospel. I am who I am today because I know with out a shadow of a doubt that Jesus is the Christ and that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me. I am so thankful I can repent, and become clean each day. I am thankful we will be resurrected and see our loved ones again. This knowledge has made me who I am

  2. There is a great lesson in these words from Joseph Smith. He had an experience almost beyond description. An experience that changed his life and the whole course of human history. He saw and heard and could not deny it; even in the face of intense persecution.

We have great events in our lives. In our realm of existence they may be as important to us as this event was to Joseph. Here is an example for you to ponder....God guided my life and led me to an Air Force career. He moved us from place to place (the AF thought they were moving us). In each location there was a purpose for us being there to further God's plan for us or others. My promotions came because of God's hand in my life. There were times when I started to think how great I was, but then fortunately I was reminded of who was really in charge.

This is just one example. There are many more. The lesson is... I know it, and I know God knows it, and I cannot deny it. When we know and acknowledge God's hand in our lives we are blessed beyond measure.

  3. I think we are lucky to have parents who have such strong testimonies of the restoration and the gospel. It's so important to them that they spend much of their time on missionary work and take the grandkids to the sacred grove so that they can experience a little bit of what Joseph Smith did when he was 14.

This scripture helps remind me that when things get difficult or challenging that there are certain things we need to remember that we know, that we can rely on, and that won't change. Once I remember those things- it gives me courage to move forward and try to find hope again. I had a difficult situation at work last week and had dig deep to find courage to move forward and believe in myself again.
