I think all of us have concerns and problems that we bring to the Lord and our Heavenly Father when we can not see a way out. We come humble asking for help. We come because Christ knows the way to happiness. He has already taken those burdens of himself. We need to be humble enough to ask for his help then follow the promptings we are given. The more we learn of Christ the more in awe I am of him and his great sacrifice for me and the power he possesses. I know I will never be as good as he is but I want to try to be like him. I want to be on his side when the final battle of this world comes. I want to CTR- choose to remember Christ the redeemer. When we do that then we can keep an eternal perspective and we can make it through anything this world send our way.
I chose this scripture this week because I want to apply this to our family. This week we are coming together. Each of our families has some sort of burden we also carry.
Hopefully this week we can take a rest from our labors and burden carrying to lighten our loads and rest. I also think we should use this time to share our burdens a bit with each other to lighten our loads.
I think sometimes we think that sharing our problems is a sign of weakness- when in reality if we knew what each other was going through we could pool our resources to help each other, pray for each other, and offer support so that none of us feels they have to face challenges alone.
Whenever I read these verses I think of the Hymn Come unto Jesus. This hymn sums up my thoughts better than I can. So I will share the words. "Come unto Jesus, ye heavy laden, Careworn and fainting, by sin oppressed. He'll safely guide you unto that haven Where all who trust him may rest. Come unto Jesus; He'll ever heed you, Though in the darkness you've gone astray. His love will find you and gently lead you From darkest night into day. Come unto Jesus; He'll surely hear you, If you in meekness plead for his love. Oh, know you not that angels are near you From brightest mansions above? Come unto Jesus from ev'ry nation, From ev'ry land and isle of the sea. Unto the high and lowly in station, Ever he calls, "Come to me."
This is a powerful scripture and we need to have the Savior Jesus Christ in our life's and he will be with us always too ! Those are my comments on this scripture this week ! Mariah sparrow
