Luke 11:28 (Jen)

  1. Sorry I messed up posting this last week. I was a little off my game with 2 trips and being out for spring break.

I chose this scripture because I was thinking we would all have some words from conference we would want to try and implement into our lives based on what we heard with our ears and spirits during conference. The true way we can show Heavenly Father we heard the messages he was telling us is by taking action and then "keeping" those words. I think Dad's recent email message about conference sums it up perfectly:

"This week my update is a follow-up to General Conference. As you know from the past when I watch GC I watch and listen for impressions about messages directed to me or my family (you). The margins of my notes usually has your names written next to several of the talks. This conference was a bit different. There are two notes that appear over and over in the margins; ALL and MALES. There was so much directed towards all of us and what is going on right now in our families. Please review and see what the Lord was trying to tell you. Next, we fathers really got some very specific warnings and advice to help us help our families. I will be sending out a few reminders over the next few weeks.

A few weeks ago in a FHE with Mariah we had a lesson getting us ready for conference. The conclusion of that lesson suggested at the end of conference we ask ourselves the question, "Now what?" Are we ready to make changes in our lives? Can we help ourselves or others be better than we were in the past? What will you do different because of General Conference?

Have a great week and standby for some conference thoughts to help us all be better."

  2. This reminded me that we must listen and then be doers of the word. We can't just listen and then go out of the meeting or conference session and be the same as you were before. If so you have wasted your time and the speakers time. Each lesson, or each talk from conference should change us, refine us, help us to repent, and to purify ourselves so we are better after we have heard what was taught. If not we are ungrateful servants.
let us be doers of the word and each set one goal to work on for the next 6 months.

  3. I don't have much to say, and I didn't have much time to take notes while keeping my kids occupies with activities about conference. We live in the days long foretold. To say we are blessed to be able to watch and hear these men speak seems like an understatement, but I don't know how else we can express the supernal gift to have HIS special witnesses speak to us. I believe Peter's words sum it up best after witnessing the savior on the Mt. of Transfiguration.

Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here. (Matthew 17:4)

Where will our faith take us next. Interesting that Matthew 17 also includes the parable of the mustard seed. What little faith can do.

  4. General conference was so good and I felt the spirit from all the talks and their messages were very good too. I really like this scripture so much too and we need to apply it to our life's. Those are my comments from last week !
