  1. I am going to be first to comment on this scripture this week as I was pondering on this scripture I rejoice in Christ and I like the part that talks about preaching of Christ and I know I see people like the missionaries searching our gospel with new people all the time and teaching them more about our Savior Jesus Christ . I love this scripture very much and it is one of my favorites too . Those are my thoughts for this week ! Mariah Sparrow

  2. I tried to enter my thoughts as we were driving in the car today but it didn't go through- so maybe this time it will work.

I had a very familiar feeling come over me as I read through this verse each time this week. I think it may have been one of those verses mom put up on the fridge and had us memorize as we had family scripture study when we were younger.

Mom and dad have taken this verse to heart. They talk to us about their experiences with the Savior and the Spirit. They write about it in their journals. They show us as they serve in their callings, as missionaries, and in the community. We are lucky, in that mom and dad have taught us to look to the Savior throughout our lives. It has gradually become engrained in us to do so because of their diligence and examples.

I hope I can carry this tradition on with my own family as well.

We owe a great debt of gratitude to our parents for teaching us to know, love, and value the Savior!

  3. Nephi gave us this scripture for "our day and time." The world is trying hard to forget Christ and His teachings. This is the scripture, that like no other, heralds to the world that Christ is the center of our Church. He is the author of our religion. And then it goes a step further to outline the projection of these beliefs to the next generation. Can there be any doubt of where we must turn for our spiritual growth? Your Mother worked very hard to make certain you were raised in a Christ-centered home. The next time you have the opportunity to walk the sacred halls of this home look at what Mom has put there to remind us of whom we talk, rejoice, preach, and prophesy.

    Have a great week. DAD

  4. So as I have reflected in this scripture I was impressed by the 2 parts of the scripture. The first part the "we" part; to me is take about gaining personal testimony of Christ. Experimenting on his word and what it causes us to do. The second part about teaching has been discussed but I was struck the word write. Recording our thought and impressions seems to be key for our children. Why is this ponderize so meaningful to us? The act of recoding it. Anyway that's what struck me.

  5. I had an interesting experience. When we were on our layover in Phoenix Dad was sitting by a man who talked to him, We got around to the holidays and he asked what religion we were. We told he we were LDS or Mormon. His eyes just lit up as he told us that his favorite Christmas movie was Mr Cruger's Christmas with Jimmy Steward. Then he went into detail that he was a member of a different church. He noticed I was in a wheel chair. He asked if he could pray over me with the gift of tongues. I did let him touch my leg and give me a blessing. Here he was not even a member of our church but he was talking about Christ. I think there are people all around us who are searching for the truth but we don"t talk of Christ and show them where to find it. We need to be more bold in declaring our faith. The more bold we are the more we will be preparing the earth for the second coming of our Savior

  6. I am soooo late, but here am I with my thoughts...

"that our children my know..." There is no doubt that we as mom and dad's children can bring no greater happiness into their life than for them to know that we know of him, and and live everyday to be like him.

As I raise my curious busy children, I am getting a few little golden moments here and there that tells me they are on the path to knowing and becoming like him. If we can direct our children to him, they will know as we know the peace that comes from the power of becoming more like him though daily repentance. Somewhere in that process, we parents get a little of that peace too.
